About the Team
When FRC Team 5171 was founded in 2014, it was a big deal. A new team, new people. However, drawing on curiosity, our love of learning, our brains, and the power of teamwork, we persevered through challenges. We ultimately won the Rookie All-Star award at the Silicon Valley regional the following year. Over the years, our team has changed: members have left, and new members have joined, but our curiosity, our innovation, our discipline, and our love of robots have only grown stronger.
Robotics is like a team sport; everyone is working together, acquiring new skills, trying to work through problems, and working toward goals and achieving awards and greatness. While we work through every season, there are always opportunities to learn new skills, whether you’re working on the robot or not. Chances to learn skills that work towards real-life applications are one of the key parts of robotics.
